Great Legal Marketing Jump Start Conference 2010

Once again I was invited to shoot pics for the fine folks at Great Legal Marketing (GLM). As I make my way around looking for angles, lighting, and such I am in awe of what I am listening to, and learning about. Simply put....web based marketing and how to effectively market yourself, no matter what your business. Fascinating to me as I expand upon my own photography business.

As an added feature, I was invited to offer corporate headshots to those looking for their first or an updated pic for their web pages and other media. A few of those are below.

Enjoy the cool slide show below. If you have broadband you can see a High Resolution showing by clicking here; GLM Slide Show. Click on the HQ in the bottom right menu.

Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, National Air and Space Museum

My two youngest sons and I popped into the Udvar-Hazy Center today to catch the latest IMAX movie "Magnificent Desolation; Walking on the Moon." We never really get tired of tooling around this easy-to-get-to and easy-to-get-around museum. It should be a must stop on your tour through DC. And if you live here and haven't been......get out and go see it. Make sure you catch a movie and take a ride in a simulator, my boy's personal favorite.

Washington National Cathedral

Well after 40 some years I finally made it down to the Washington National Cathedral while chaperoning my son's recent field trip. What an amazing place. A photographer could get lost for hours with so much to see and shoot. I definitely need to travel back there on my own time......tripod in hand. Here are just a few of many from the day. Enjoy. There are many alters throughout the Cathedral. Most interesting about this one is that its a mini alter with mini chairs for small children.

Cuppett Performing Arts Center, Vienna, VA

Last Friday night I had a session with some very talented dancers from Cuppett Performing Arts Center in Vienna, VA. The evening proved challenging and a lot of fun to "get the shot" technically correct for their performance program yet to be published. The girls certainly knew exactly what they needed to do. They worked extremely hard and are dedicated to their craft.

Special thanks to instructor Ashley Cuppett for all her efforts to help the girls, and me, with the session.

Limo Ride

Ever wondered what the inside of those Hummer Limos look like? For starters, they look like a lot of fun.

Into The Mist

It's not very often you get to see this beautiful pier with no one on it. Its a very popular spot at the Whalehead Club looking out over the Currituck Sound. Nor do you get to see it like this, extending out into the fog of an early winter morning.

Sorry We Missed You

This looked to be an antique store on our way home from the beach in NC but upon closer inspection it looked abandoned. Reminds me of my kid's "I Spy" books.

Magic Bus

Update: This photo below was selected into the HDRSpotting webpage. Glad I'm worthy. I thought it was a pretty cool shot.

Sometimes I see things on the side of the road I just have to jump out and photograph. Of course my wife likes this as I am now more likely to stop for an antique store than I used to be!

This cool camper bus was parked on the side of Route 12 just North of the Whalehead Club on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I love the spiked front wheels. Modern day Ben Hurr.

Geek Speak: This is a 3 shot, hand held HDR image taken with a Canon 7D on a tripod, with a little Topaz Detail and Adjust thrown in while in Photoshop.

I have some great shots from my most recent trip to the OBX I'll be sharing in the days to come.
