Midnight Dragon Sailing, Florida Keys

Our good friend Captain Jim has his website up and running and taking reservations. As you may recall, we sailed with Jim as part of the Boy Scout's Sea Base National High Adventure last summer. Mad Brenda was not the least bit deterred by last night's snowstorm and rocked Jammin Java here in Northern Virginia. The music was fantastic and the crowd was loving it. Concert photography is challenging, more so when the night club in which you are in is very dimly lit.

The photos above were taken with a Canon 7D racked out at 6400 ISO, with a Canon 70-200mm f2.8 lens, tweaked in Adobe Lightroom, and denoised in CS4 using Topaz deNoise software. I think the result is fair. Gotta keep trying to find that diamond in the rough.

The entire evening was broadcast by my friend Jim Folliard of Fairfax Video Studio on uStreamTV so my kids were able to watch the band (and me) on my MAC. How cool is that?

Great Legal Marketing Jump Start Conference 2010

Once again I was invited to shoot pics for the fine folks at Great Legal Marketing (GLM). As I make my way around looking for angles, lighting, and such I am in awe of what I am listening to, and learning about. Simply put....web based marketing and how to effectively market yourself, no matter what your business. Fascinating to me as I expand upon my own photography business.

As an added feature, I was invited to offer corporate headshots to those looking for their first or an updated pic for their web pages and other media. A few of those are below.

My two youngest sons and I popped into the Udvar-Hazy Center today to catch the latest IMAX movie "Magnificent Desolation; Walking on the Moon." We never really get tired of tooling around this easy-to-get-to and easy-to-get-around museum. It should be a must stop on your tour through DC. And if you live here and haven't been......get out and go see it. Make sure you catch a movie and take a ride in a simulator, my boy's personal favorite.
