National Museum of American History

Popped into DC with the family last Sunday to visit the National Museum of American History. Its gotten quite an overhaul and was quite nice. Hands down favorite exhibit was the "Price of Freedom" which takes you from the Revolutionary War through the Gulf War. I highly recommend a visit if you haven't been in a while.

Out For A Ride ~ Self Portrait

Hit the trails this morning for a long ride. Gotta love those clouds. Beautiful morning. Great ride. This wall runs along an industrial building near the Washington and Old Dominion Bike Trail in Vienna. Kinda cool...don't ya think?

Geek Speak: My self portrait was taken with my Canon 7D mounted on a mini tripod. Its a three shot HDR image married in Photomatix software and tweaked in Adobe Literoom and CS4. By the way....CS5 came out yesterday. Can you feel the excitement? Its all ready on order. Wahoo!

Sofia

It is that time of the year again when many 2nd graders prepare to receive the Gift of God within the Catholic Faith. I never tire of seeing these beautiful young ladies in their stunning white dresses. Congratulations Sofia.

How They Roll In Del Ray Beach, Florida

Spent some of spring break visiting the in-laws and touring the Del Ray Beach area. Nice place, Lots of activity. The first place I've been where the ol' timers trick out their golf carts. I think his name was Inspector Gadget.

Got up for the sun rise....then went back to bed. You can still see the stars.

Pick and Poop....what a life! And this on the roof of an outdoor restaurant.

Met George and Anne out for a stroll on the beach. This happy couple hail from way up north. I was snapping photos of my own family when I offered to snap theirs.

In Memory of Joe Raymond

My Uncle Joe Raymond of Saginaw Michigan was laid to rest this past St. Patrick's Day. He was a great guy, a fantastic family man, role model, and loved by many. This is a tribute. Enjoy.

RETENTION.....Al Lambert Signature Poster

One of my favorite photos was selected by the National Capital Area Council for Boy Scouts for a motivational poster called "Retention" and signed by former NCAC Scout Executive Al Lambert. The image was made in the early morning on Lake Merriweather, on the Camp PMI dock, at the Goshen Scout Reservation in Goshen Va as the boys sat waiting for their swim test.
