Paul Green's School of Rock Music....Really Rocks!

I'm sold on Paul Green's School of Rock Music/Vienna. What a great event. All the kids had tremendous fun at Jammin Java. Their talent runs deep, down to the youngest of the kids. Theme for the night was all Beatles covers. The kids nailed them and the crowd loved it. Chilling to see your child on stage enjoying himself. What he did last night and today I always wished I could do. Great show. Good job Danny!

Invertebrates

My kids are in Zoo Camp this week at the National Zoo. This is the first time I've ever been where I was allowed to walk the park on my own. So I challenged myself to get off the main path and explore the many side trips the zoo has to offer.

Here I submerged my Canon 40D to get these underwater shots. Just kidding. These were in an aquarium and I used my 50mm prime lens with natural light.

MadBrenda Rocks the GLM Conference

Who new my brother Ben still knew how to rock? Or knew in the first place for that matter. I'm sure his Billy Joel and Linda Ronstadt albums are still getting a workout. Girl Scout Father Daughter Dance

Last Sunday I did a shoot for my friends in Girl Scouts of America. Some of you may know that I've been a registered leader with Boy Scouts for many years. I'm a huge supporter of the program. The theme for the father daughter dance was cowgirl. I took this shot of this lovely young lady with my 50mm, although I chose to use flash this time for more clarity. It has been enhanced with Photoshop CS3.

American History Museum

My oldest son was off school yesterday so we decided to venture down to the newly redesigned National American History Museum. It was very well done and had more to offer than we could cover in the time we had. I took my camera and new 50mm lens (no flash) to see what I could come up with.

Trying out the Canon 50mm f1.4 Prime

This week I treated myself to a new 50mm fast lens in an effort to improve my indoor basketball shots. I think I'm getting closer. So far I have no complaints. Love it. As with my Canon 70-200mm zoom the shallow depth of field can be a challenge. In a good way. Makes me work harder.
