Procida
This shot was taken from an overlook on the small Island of Procida off the coast of Naples Italy. I was dabbling in an antiquing effect to make the photo look like something you might find on an old restaurant wall. Which do you prefer?

Viva Vienna!
Overcast but clear skies, people and vendors everywhere, the sound of children's laughter, the rock and roll of the carnival rides; Viva Vienna was packed with fun for the kids, music for the adults, and endless shopping.
Slide show music by none other than Jammin' Java's Luke Brindley! And Luke and Friends performed at the festival and appears in the slide show.

To Honor
As we honor the supreme sacrifice of those who have laid down their lives for our freedom, so do we honor America's veterans and the men and women serving today in our military forces.
Three of my heroes, still very much alive and enjoying life. Top - Bill Levy (Grandpa Bill) of Louiville, KY, served in WWII, Charles Curley (Uncle Charles; previously blogged HERE), and new recruit PFC Patrick Glass (below - my nephew) entering the Army National Guard and immersed in basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia as I write. We love and miss him and wish him the best of luck.
Thanks gentlemen.

See No Evil.....
I always enjoy getting another opportunity to chaperon for my kid's field trips. Gets me out of the house, I get to shoot pics, I love being with the kids, and I often put together slide shows for them as well. Sometimes the animals just don't want to behave for the camera. But the day was cool and the animals were lively. The kids had a great time.

The Run For Love
My brother Ben, wife Sandi, and their children are very involved with the group Love Without Boundaries. Last fall, he and a team of friends and relatives ran the Marine Corps Marathon in an effort to raise money for their cause. Their success pulled in over $25,000. I put together this slide show at their request. I cannot take credit for any of the pictures. The slide show has received over 440 hits since November of 2008. Enjoy and share.

1800 Wilson Blvd
Recently I was helping out a friend who does Real-estate shots and tours. I found myself down near Clarendon in Arlington at 1800 Wilson Blvd. This is a fairly new condominium complex. Here I discovered two things. The first, I don't really care too much for real-estate shooting, meaning, I find exteriors for more interesting than kitchens and dining rooms. I decided to add in a little HDR (high dynamic range) effect to spice up the pic. Thought they looked great. The second thing occurred while waiting for the Realtor who was running late......
....it was here that I stumbled on the Cafe Assorti located on the ground floor of the same complex. Looked like a great place for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even a nightcap as they had a fully loaded bar. I could see myself spending some time here if all I had to do was take the elevator up. I had a nice conversation with the manager, Mr. Benjamin Slocum, who treated me to a fresh danish. I promised to send him some pics.
